When I saw the little ruby plant in the nursery, I decided to take the Ruby plant with me for my indoor garden. It looks amazing in the nursery.

What is a ruby plant?

There is no specific plant called the “ruby plant”. We use the term ruby plant for the Ruby rubber plant, ficus ruby, and Ruby Glow Hydrangea.

The”ruby” in its common name or a plant known for its reddish or ruby-colored features.

How do you take care of a ruby plant?

You can grow ruby plants in your indoor plant pots. But you can adopt some care tips for better growth of ruby plants.

1. Place it in the sunlight

There is a problem with providing sunlight for indoor garden plants. If possible, place your plants in the direct sunlight.

Or, you can use the grow light for your plants. It is more beneficial2. to provide the morning sunlight for the small tree-like ruby plants.

2. Avoid Excessive water

Please provide the water when the ruby plant needs it. Otherwise, do not provide the water. It will help to reduce the humidity around the plant which causes root rot.

Ruby trees can grow in normal humidity levels which is similar to the room, So care about it.

3. Temperature

Typically indoor plants thrive in the room without getting sunlight. Please keep an eye on the temperature range must be within 60-75°F (15-24°C). Avoid exposing it to temperatures below 50°F (10°C).

4. Soil and Growing Medium

Use the soil and mix it with coconut coir for the better growth of your ruby plants. You can also mix soil with perlite or vermiculite works well.

Coconut coir holds more water compared to the soil, so it provides when plants need it. The other benefit of using coconut coir is working as fertilizer.

5. Toxicity

Be aware that the Ruby Rubber Tree is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep it out of their reach.
